CSIRO Medal

Dr. Hung Nguyen, Research & Technology Manager, Orica ChlorAlkali becomes one of the first people from a commercial organisation outside the CSIRO to received a CSIRO Medal.


Medals for CSIRO staff are awarded to candidates who display outstanding research achievement and/or leadership.

Medals for research achievement may be awarded to individuals or teams. The research must satisfy at least one of the following criteria: it makes a substantial contribution to Australia's industrial development; it furthers the interests of the Australian community; it helps achieve national objectives; it makes significant advances in scientific knowledge of potential major national importance. In addition, the research must have been completed or gained scientific or industrial recognition during the past five years, and must have been carried out predominantly by CSIRO employees working within CSIRO.

For research leadership , the candidate must have demonstrated outstanding leadership of a Division, Centre or Unit, or in exceptional circumstances, a major project. For more details on this prestigious award refer to:
